Rhi's Queenstown Guide

Rhis Queenstown Favourites.

Meet Rhi (and her beautiful doggo Kira), an incredible member of our reception team! See her absolute favourite things to do in Queenstown.

Queenstown stole my heart during my time traveling New Zealand in 2016, so much so I waved goodbye to England and moved my life over to live here permanently.

Every day is a holiday in Queenstown and if you get chance to visit our stunning town, you absolutely must tick off some activities!

Here’s some of my personal favourites…

Dart River Funyaks

This is hands down my all-time favourite activity, perfect on a warm sunny day!  An exciting jet boat ride, followed by a gentle downstream paddle topped off with a delicious buffet lunch… Oh and of course, 360° views! This really is an activity you won’t forget. There’s nothing quite like exploring hidden side streams, rock pools and dramatic chasms such as the beautiful Rockburn Chasms by inflatable kayak!

Tip: Don’t forget insect repellent and sun-cream!

Ben Lomond Track

If you’re looking for a go-to, local’s favourite day hike - this is it!

Ben Lomond is a challenging hike, taking around 6-8 hours return from the Gondola base to the Summit, but it is so very worth it. Once at the Summit you will be rewarded with stunning 360° views over Queenstown and the surrounding region (I mean, look at this shot I got perched on a rock at the top)!

Tip: 6-8 hours too long? Take the Gondola up and reduce the walk time to 3-4 hours without skipping the views.

Canyon Swing

If you’re here to concur your fear of heights, the World’s #1 Canyon Swing is the place to do it.

The Canyon Swing is locally owned and operated since 2002, run by an awesome crew that are pro’s at getting you hyped up! Jump by yourself, tandem with a friend, get the crew to release you, or slide the slide - this Swing gives you so much versatility, you’ll want to keep on jumping!

I’ve done this one at least 5 times, and I would so do it again, it’s that good!

Tip: Pay the extra for photo’s and video – you’ll want proof you did this!

Nevis Bungy

Ok… I’m quite the adrenaline junkie, I’ve jumped off almost every edge you can jump off (safely) in Queenstown but THIS is next level. If you’re going to do a bungy jump, go big or go home right?! 134 metres, 8.5 second freefall – It’s as scary as it sounds!

Tip: Maybe something smaller? Try the original Kawarau Bridge Bungy. The world’s first and most famous bungy. This 43-metre bungy will certainly get your heart racing!

Cruise Milford Sound

If you haven’t been to Milford Sound, have you even been to New Zealand?

From thundering waterfalls to sky-high mountains to lush rainforests, Milford has it all. Experience the spray of a waterfall as you cruise close to sheer rock faces. Informative, participative, and relaxed, this is the perfect way to experience Milford Sound to the fullest.

Tip: Discover Milford Sound from three unforgettable perspectives – Coach, Cruise & Fly.
